She has also provided relief due to tension headaches.”
“One of the best massage therapists ever. You won’t be disappointed. Angela is amazing.”

“My wife and I have been clients of Downtowner Massage for over 5 years now. We could not be happier. Angela’s attention to every detail has been nothing short of professional and always appreciated. The atmosphere is relaxing and we could not give her anything less than a 5-star recommendation! Thank you, Angela, for taking such good care of us and we look forward to many more years of your care to come!”
“I have been going to The Downtowner and seeing Angela for several years and could not be happier! She always uses just the right pressure depending on what’s bothering me. We have shared many stories about our favorite restaurants, vacation sites, and even receipes. But Angela is great about taking cues from her clients whether they want to chat or they want to just relax and enjoy a quiet massage. From day one Angela has made me feel very comfortable, I would recommend her to all my friends!”

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?
Your massage therapist will require you to fill out a health history form. Afterwards the therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed and to determine if massage is appropriate for you. Your massage therapist may perform certain assessments and testing to evaluate your condition, and to see if you have any presenting complaints.
What do I wear during the massage?
Depending on the primary technique your therapist uses, you may or may not need to undress. Only undress to your level of comfort, for a full body massage, most people undress to their bottom underwear. However, you may choose to undress completely or keep some of your clothes on. Your massage therapist will give you privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except for the area being worked on.
What do I do during a massage therapy treatment?
Make yourself comfortable. Try to concentrate on your breathing and the sound of the music. If you feel any discomfort or would like more/ less pressure, do not be afraid to speak up. If your therapist wants you to adjust your position, she or he will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed – you do not need to help with the movement. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time. During some deep tissue techniques, there can be a significant amount of pressure that may be on the verge of uncomfortable – it is best to breathe deeply during this technique to help the muscle release. If something is painful, please let your therapist know.
How will a massage feel?
It usually depends on the techniques used. Many massage therapists use a form of Swedish massage, which is often a baseline for practitioners. In a general Swedish massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes (effleurage) that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. Often, a light oil or lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. Do not hesitate to ask questions or mention if you feel any discomfort so that the massage therapist can use another approach or technique.
Will the massage oils used make me break-out?
We use a hypo-allergenic gel with apricot and grapeseed oils for most massages. If you have sensitivity to any types of oils or lotion please bring it to the massage therapist’s attention so we make sure to use only hypo-allergenic.
What’s the difference between deep tissue and firm pressure massage?
There is often a misconception by clients that “firm pressure” is the same as “deep tissue massage.” To help clear up the confusion, click here to read about what’s different.
